My prayers to hold back rain on occasions have not been missed by one of my friends. I've acquired the internet nickname “The Weatherman” thanks to the number of times that I have prayed for the weather to hold back and it has doe so. The latest occasion was when we were walking around the local park and the clouds were threatening rain. Now just because I am out walking is actually no good reason to ask for the rain to hold off as I point out to all. Getting soaked is not quite an occupational hazard when living in Malaysia because there are many places to shelter but on this occasion we had walked past the main shelter and were about 400m (halfway) from the next. The usual way rain starts over here is for a few drops to start falling and over the next five minutes for this to turn into a tropical rainstorm lasting 30 minutes or so. A glance upwards suggested the five minute countdown had just started.
