Kuala Lumpur August 2024 "Dodging a tropical shower"

My wife does real estate work and this particular day she had to show a house to potential buyers that was situated about 1km from where we are living. However we have no car at the moment as ours is in the workshop for engine repairs so we either have to hire a car to take us there or we walk. I guessed that few taxi's would want to pick us up for a 1km journey but as we would only have a twenty minute downhill walk to get to that house we decided to walk. As our departure time drew near it started to cloud over. The weather here changes very quickly and when we set off it looked fine but after ten minutes we started to feel rain in the air. We still had another 400m to go and I hadn't brought an umbrella with us. This looked like it would become a big problem in the next five minutes.
If you have read some of my previous stories then you will know this scenario is not uncommon in my life. One of my friends calls me the Weatherman because of the times where I have prayed for it not to rain and for those prayers to be answered and you will find several stories like this one if you look for them. What appears to be key is that it should really matter to me that it doesn't rain not that it would be just nice if it didn't. Had I been alone then I would just have walked a lot faster and that would have been sufficient but my wife can't do that so it really did matter that the rain kept away for a bit longer and I prayed for that to be so. We kept our steady walking pace for the next ten minutes and got to that house before the rain started. It was less than five minutes after our arrival that the heavens opened and a heavy tropical storm started to rain down on the building we were now inside. That storm was still going even after my wife had finished showing the property to the potential buyers but that was not going to be a problem. We now had plans to go shopping and a hire car would take us there.
